Seize the Daisies!

Hello all... it's a Free for All Friday with a summer-like feel that's just as fresh as a daisy! Gerber Daisies that is! Just as the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers and at Flourishes -- we are watching the daisies sprout! Just take a trip to see all of our designers today and you're sure to be inspired as they show off their creations using our set Gerber Daisies! And, if you like what you see on their blogs, you should know that today and tomorrow only - you can add this set to your collection for 20% off! Just use the code DAISY at the time of check out!

On to my creation... (I have a couple for you!) First one is one that actually was a mom's day creation that my dear mother got this year for her special day!

I used scraps frommy scrap bin for this creation and so I am so sorry, I can't tell you what these decorative papers are. I did stamp the Gerber Daisy on the blue decorative paper with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and using Copic Markers, colored them up slightly. I used these collections....

As for the doodads on the card, I used THIS fun May Arts green gingham ruffle, white cotton ribbon and THESE fun rhinestones from Prima. The sentiment is from the Motherly Love stamp set and was stamped on a piece of Flourishes Classic White that was die cut thanks to a Spellbinders Classic Circle die and matted on a shape cut and embossed thanks to a Beaded Circle Nestabilities Die.

For my second creation, I wanted to share a mom's day card that I did last year and was actually published as an online extra for Paper Creations Magazine. Here's a peek....

And for the instructions, all you need to do is click HERE for a full instruction sheet!

So what are you waiting for? Head on over and see these super talented ladies below to see all of their creations in their full glory!
Thanks for stopping by! We hope you have a fun-filled, relaxing and crafty weekend ahead!

It's a Free For All Friday!

Hi all! Since it’s the Friday after Flourishes’ release – the DT loves to show off another creation with the new sets and we just have a bit of a free for all! And, today is no exception! It’s also the last day for the New Release Bundle – a time when you can pick up all four new sets at 10% off when you purchase them together in a bundle.

On to my creation! I used Flourishes On the Porch set -- which I just love. It's so peaceful and "homey!" (I know that's not a word!! ;-) )

I knew that I wanted to use this image to create a thank you card - so I didn't use the sentiments that came with this set. Instead, I turned to the Tiny Flowers and Tags set and Flourishes' Tailor-made Classic Tags Dies. I thought "From the Heart" would be good! I am sending this out to one of my clients who helped me with a HUGE issue this week and there really are no words to truly and properly thank them. Long story short - my computer died after I spilled coffee on my keyboard (yes, I am that clumsy). One of my clients at work felt so sorry that not only did they put me in touch with their IT guy, they bought me a new computer. It was like an angel just fell out of the sky, I tell ya! So... this card will be for them!!

To create my card, I stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Flourishes Classic White Card Stock and then colored it up with Copic Markers. I used these collections!
Speaking of Copic markers, did you see Flourishes new Copic Collection color swatch book? It's a must have if you color with Copics! You can check it out HERE!

As for the other tidbits, I used Howdy Doody Paper, some May Arts Twine, and THIS fun Linen Burlap. I just love the country/rustic feel of this ribbon!
Before I let you go, have you seen all of Flourishes' new and fabulous sets for May? Take a peek!!
The design team will have eye candy on their blogs using one of these three sets. So, what are you waiting for? Head on over and see…..
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all have fun weekend plans and can steal away for some fun creativity yourself! TGIF!

On to my creation!

When I first laid eyes on this set, I just fell in love with this charming little pair of glasses of lemonade with this delish pitcher. I knew right away that I wanted to create a card that was full of sunshine and.... I also knew that I wanted to add in a set that Flourishes released a while back -- Life, Love and Lemons! I actually stamped one of the little lemons on some decorative paper to give this card a little something extra! I used Memento Dandelion ink. After stamping my lemonade vignette on Flourishes Classic White, I colored with Copics and used these collections!

After I was done, I matted up my image using a mix of BasicGrey Picadilly and Howdy Doody  papers. Add some fun matching ribbon, crochet lace and a button and... tada! And... here's a closeup!

Sneak Peek Day 2: Father's Day!

Hello all! The Flourishes fun continues today with day 2 of their sneak peeks for May! Today -- it's all about the dads in our lives - our own dads, our husbands or any dad you want to send a little love to!

Introducing.....

In this classic silhouette set by Lauren Pope, she captures the heartfelt images of a father with his children. It's playful and loving and will be a sure-fire Father's Day hit. This 4 by 6" set features three focal images plus five sentiments perfect to honor dear ole Dad! We know -- just like Dad -- it's a keeper!! If you like the looks of this set -- it's available for pre-order right now, right HERE!!

On to my creation -- it's an easy peasy one that you might need sunglasses to look at! I wanted one that would show the spirit of a child in -- one with bold colors and graphical impact!

I grabbed the BasicGrey Life of the Party paper pack (which is on sale right now if you use the code SPRINGCLEAN -- it will give you 15% off!) I just love the bright colors in this pack with the rustic browns and wood grain patterns -- perfect for Dad -- don't you think?

Card tidbits: This one was pretty simple - I stamped my image onto my dp using Memento Rich Cocoa and then stamped Happy Fathers Day in Tuxedo Black and then stamped only a portion of one of one of the sentiments using Tangelo ink. I added a brad, some twine, a fun punched border -- make that two, some stitching and sanded edges and.... ta da!!! Easy peasy!

Here's a close up -- love that image. So classic!!!

Sneak Peek Day 1: Hydrangea!

First things first... some fun news about a BIG sale!

Flourishes is clearing the shelves to make way for new items -- so they are doing some spring cleaning! Just use the code SPRINGCLEAN at the time of check out to get 15% off all the items listed above!

Are you ready for a spring-time release that has a little something for everyone and every kind of occasion? Flourishes certainly is and today brings a sneak of a classic botanical that made the Flourishes Design Team swoon!

INTRODUCING.....

Isn't this set something??? This new 4" by 6" set illustrated by Marcella Hawley features a beautiful cluster of hydrangea, hand-picked from the garden along with clusters of flowers to serve as accents. It's a gorgeous expression of spring and summer that comes with three all occasion sentiments and one beautiful accent word that would be lovely on any card or creation. If you like what you see, you can pre-order this set now... right HERE!

On to my creation! It's actually a pair of creations made with this set.....

Here's a quick peek at what I whipped up -- a little candy basket and matching card! And now, to the details!

I started with a 6 by 6" piece of paper and used the smaller hydrangea in the set to stamp all over using Memento Lulu Lavender. Doesn't it almost look like background paper? Love that stamp!

From there, I flipped the paper over and scored at the 2" and 4" marks using my Scor-Buddy. You can see too that I created diagonal lines just in the four outer corners of my piece. The black dots are where I punched holes to string ribbon through.

I added a decorative border, some stitching and then gathered all the corners up -- folding the diagonal lines as valley folds. I am so sorry that I didn't take a picture of this step! But you can see from the photo above. When stringing the ribbon - I threaded THIS ribbon from the left to the right through both holes on that corner and then threaded it through both holes on the opposite corner. Then, I took the other tail and did the same thing from one diagonal corner to the opposite on the diagonal. Basically the ribbon forms an "X" and you gather the tails to tie in a bow. I accented with a stamped tag using both the Classic Ovals, and Floral Ovals dies.

 Now for my matching card!

I used a whole bunch of goodies on this creation! I used the Floral Ovals again and Classic Ovals for my main image. After I cut the small oval out, I left the die on and used the large hydrangea on the set. The die served as a mask. Also, while the die was still on, I took a Copic Multi-liner and traced the inner edge to give it a little extra pop. I colored my flowers up with my Copic markers and used these Copic Collections!

For my card, I created a 4" by 4" card and then let my floral oval bleed off the top. I also sponged some Lulu Lavender on the outer edges of both ovals. I stamped the hydrangea word stamp off the side with Lulu Lavender and accented the main portion of the card with a diamond print embossing folder. Score some lines thanks to the Scor-Buddy and add some seam binding style ribbon. I also used some Iced Candi. This was the first time I used these little numbers and I have to say I love them! They are so light weight --- which means you don't have the weight of a brad but still have the look!  The sentiment at the bottom is also part of the set and was stamped using Versafine Black Onyx ink.

Here's a close up!

And... here's another peek at the whole she-bang!

Onto my inspiration piece! I have this vase on the top of my cabinet in my kitchen that I thought would be fun to imitate. Here's a peek!

And... here's a look at my vase inspired creation!

After choosing the vase as my inspiration, I knew just what set I would reach for.... Medallion Motif!  Easy peasy! I stamped using Versamark, embossed with white detail embossing powder, accented parts of my medallion with BG72 from the Spruce Copic Collection. After that, I added the sentiment punched from a 1-1/2" circle punch (sentiment and frame also from the set). I added some white ribbon and a Seabreeze Sparklet and.... done! There's not a whole heck of a lot to this card but I am kind of digging it! I might need to look for more inspiration around my house! :-)
