Rejoice!

When Flourishes opened it's virtual doors in 2007, Rejoice was one of the first Christmas stamp set offerings! It featured an angel, some beautifully scripted words and the word Rejoice that was beautifully drawn. While the set has been retired, part of the set - the word Rejoice--is making a comeback! It's a single stamp and is one that is sure to make clean and classy Christmas cards for years to come!!

See what I mean?

On to my creation(s)!

This first card is a brand new card. My mission was to create a kind of antique look. I stamped it on a piece of decorative paper from the Annalee collection using Versamark ink. I embossed with gold detail embossing powder and then began to color! I used Copics and picked up Y21, to shade, R27 and R59 for the berries and word Rejoice and then YG95 and YG99 for my leaves. Pretty easy peasy!

For the background, I knew I wanted a kind of regal feel, so I used gold embossing powder again with the Vintage Wallpaper background stamp. After that... mat it up, add some gold leaf edging, some bling for the corner and a gold ribbon and... done! You can see the background stamp here in a closeup!

This next shot shows the card I made today... plus one I made a few weeks ago that's a really clean and simple card. It just goes to show how versatile this stamp is!
