Flourishes New Sets Are HERE!

Here we are at our last day of Flourishes' November Sneak Peek Sets! Do you sometimes look at your blank sheet of card stock and think, “I wish there was a way I could warm it up or add some interest or texture without taking anything away from the main image?  Or have you been longing to get your fingers inky and dabble in the mixed media craze?  Well, we’re ready for you!

Introducing...
SoDistressedGraphic

With Mixed Media all the rage, why not add a background set to your bag of creative tricks? This pattern and background set offers all kinds of images that can be used on their own, or as a way to add "texture" to your cards or creations. The options are endless! How about trying to layer these images for even more fun? This set measures 4" by 6".

On to my creation -- with a little bit of a tutorial for you! I call this one easy peasy coloring! First, a peek at my card....

You might take a quick glance at my creation and think I grabbed my Copic markers to color this floral up. Nope! I did it using the new So Distressed stamp set! How?

I decided to let the patterns in this set do the talking, and coloring! I started by stamping the distressed design in Spun Sugar and Angel Pink all over Flourishes Classic White. You can't see it all that well from my photo - but it is a vintage damask type image.

Then, using a faded and distressed background, I stamped it numerous times using New Sprout ink....

And then, I stamped Flourishes' Lenten Rose over top using the green for the leaves....

And the pink for the flowers.....

And, here's a close up! I took this photo from an angle so that you could see that it is all layered, adding dimension with the paper piecing....

And then, on one of my mats, I used the Spun Sugar ink and stamped the distressed damask again to tie it all together!

Add some fun decorative paper, a little tag and some fun die cuts and... ta da! All done! I should mention and you probably picked up on this -- I did add some color with Copics to the centers of the flowers but I only used two colors YG21 and YG23. Then, I added some glitter glue as well.

One last look......

And that, my friends, is it! The Flourishes Design Team loved getting inky with this clever set, so hop on over for some creative inspiration.  And, while you’re hopping remember, we have one more day of….
