Hello Baby!

Hi all! Since it's the Friday after Flourishes' release - the DT loves to show off another creation with the new sets and we just have a bit of a free for all! And, today is no exception! It's also the last day for the New Release Bundle - a time when you can pick up all four new sets at 10% off when you purchase them together in a bundle.

So... moving on to my creation! This card really couldn't get much simpler and I love that because it seems we always need to make those special occassion cards in a jiffy! All I did was pick up the My Mind's Eye Howdy Doody paper pack (it's in this month's 123 Create Kit!).

For starters, I stamped the onsie three times on different coordinating card stock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. This set is called Hello Baby! and I just think the images in this set are really.... the sweetest! Ok, moving on... I picked three sentiments from the set and stamped them on each of the onsies. Cut them out and attach them with foam tape to the front panel of a card that's been decked out in different punched and stitched layers of the same paper. Add a fun cotton linen pink ribbon and of course ... a button.. and voila! Quick and easy baby card in a flash!

Here's a close up!

You'll have to check and see what the other gals created this Friday! So, head on over and see....

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all have fun weekend plans and can steal away for some fun creativity yourself! TGIF!

Stamp Simply....OH Baby!

Oh, Baby! That's what this week's Stamp Simply Challenge (ssnotime125) is all about! All you need to do is make something with a baby in mind! You can click HERE to visit Miss Sharon Johnson's site here and see all the official rules!

I actually LOVED this challenge because my neighbors just had a baby-- little Milo Finn-- and I still had to make a card! I have a half knit baby sweater too. Oh... I need more hours in the day! :-)

So, here goes!

This card was super duper easy peasy! I used the Baby Love Set from Flourishes, stamped the three images in Heavenly Blue ink (CTMH), used a 1-1/2" circle punch, matted it on a scalloped punched circle. And the rest is just matting it up! The decorative paper (Stampin' Up) has a zig-zag stitch edge, I added a punched edge and then matted it onto a textured piece of blue cardstock with a paper pierced edge. Add a button and bow and mat the circles with the help of some foam tape. Just that simple!

So, make time for play time and join us! Just make sure you use Mr. Linky over on Sharon's blog so we can see your creations! Want to see the other sweet baby creations whipped up by the Stamp Simply team? Just hop on over and see.....

Now, to my creation! I am coming to be known as the baby sweater lady in my neighborhood! I absolutely love making baby sweaters and love to shower a new mom and babe with them. It's fun for me to knit and purl and know that one day a darling new addition to someone's family will wear it!

I love to also make a card to go along with the project and up until now, I haven't really found a set that I love. Baby Love is PERFECT for baby gifts! See? This one is actually is going to my mom for a charity auction that she helps put together through her church. Edited To Add: Some of you asked what pattern I used and what yarn I used. Here goes! I took this from a pattern in the 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders book by Judith Durant. The pattern is called the Feather and Fan Baby Sweater. I used Caron Simply Soft yarn in Soft Pink. It's inexpensive yarn and knits up very nice -- and washable!

How fun is it to have a great little sentiment and small images perfect for tags?
The card was a blast to create! I took my lead from this week's Timeless Tuesday challenge hosted by Silke Ledlow, which was to score! I scored a criss-cross design onto my Flourishes Classic White card stock and then filled the "diamonds" with the smaller images in this set! The sentiment is also part of the new set. Add a fun punched border and you're almost done! The sentiment was layered with the help of some SU punches and some of that gorgeous May Arts Satin Ribbon. I also added some of the smallest Kaiser pearls to the areas where my diamonds meet.

Do you want to win this set? All you need to do is leave a comment over on the Flourishes Newsletter! A winner will be announced tomorrow! And, remember, the clock is ticking on our Fit For Royalty challenge! Enter and you could win all four of our new release sets. You can read all about it HERE!

Tomorrow brings our final day of peeks leading up to our full of fun Release Party! Tomorrow's set is a fresh pick straight from the garden! You won't want to miss it!

See you tomorrow!

Oh Baby!

Well, this was the little card I came up with for my friend's baby shower yesterday. To steal the words of bloggin' bud Jennifer Buck, it's "easy peasy lemon squeezy!" :-) I just used my Nesties for the shapes on the tag. The image is actually a Stampin' Up image from forever ago. It was part of a set of nine or ten little mini images for all different occasions. Sadly, this is the only third time I have used that set! With this card, however, I think I could get a lot more mileage just by using the tag and ribbon style. I colored my little onsie with water color pencils and added a little glitter thanks to my clear Copic Spica pen. Don't you just love those little safety pins? I think those were put out by Making Memories. They are all in pastel colors which make them PERFECT for baby cards!

Here's a close up of the little tag showing the pin and the sheer ribbon....

Well, I am about to go off to my work cave (that's what I sometimes call my bedroom) I have some writing assignments for the magazine I work for so I'll lock myself in my room with my laptop and hopefully nail them out! Writers block can stink, so wish me luck!! :-)

Until tomorrow!!
