Happy Halloween!

Hi all and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! Did you see my note yesterday HERE about Flourishes fabulous No Tricks, Just Treats Sale?? It's a sweet sale, just in time for Halloween! So click on over to read up on the details!

I thought I'd share an old to me, new to you creation today with all of you -- it's a great all occasion card that you can use to catch up with friends from across the miles!

This card is one I made back in May for one of Flourishes' Class in a Box kits! I have to say, all the decorative paper in this pack was a part of the kit but the fun thing is -- there are only two pieces and you could use this layout and color coordinate your image to any decorative paper color scheme you would like to use! I started by stamping the tellie on a piece of Flourishes Classic White Card Stock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. From here, I colored the image from the Call Me set with Copic Markers (see the link list below for the colors that I used!). I cut the image out using Spellbinders Standard Circles LG and then matted it up on a Perfectly Pierced Classic Windows die cut shape. I stamped one of the small sentiments from the set onto one of the tags from the Classic Tags set. Add a little yellow seam binding ribbon, some champagne pearls, and then mat it all up! Easy peasy!

Here's a cute little close up of the tag -- you can see I tied it on to the ribbon thanks to a wee bit of gold cording. And... ta da!

And that, my friends, is it! Something quick, fun and easy to serve as a little creative treat this Halloween -- and guess what -- there's no calories in creative treats! :-)

Since it is the Night of Fright, I'll be off marching around my neighborhood with my little banana (see photo below with her brother giving me the -- I refuse to smile because she is weird -- face!). Tonight, we'll be in search of some Halloween fun with her friends. Should be a big dose of candy-induced fun! :-) See you all back here soon!

Have a Happy Halloween & I will
see you back here soon!

Mad for Plaid!

Hello all! If you hopped on over to Flourishes on Tuesday -- you know the FTTC challenge this week is to prove that you're Mad about Plaid! That's right, just that easy -- use plaid or houndstooth in your design! Since this challenge was easy peasy and since I still need to get some cards set aside for Christmas, I decided to get in on the fun!

So, off to my creation!

For my card, I decided to use the Winter Berries set and create a wreath -- if you saw THIS post, it shows a tutorial on how I did this with the leaf and berry cluster and a bunch of quick masking. I stamped onto a circle from the Spellbinders Standard Circles LG die set using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then colored it up with Copic markers. (See my supply list for the list of colors that I used!)  I paired it with some Reflections Christmas paper and some So this is Christmas paper too. Add a doily, a fun glittered border, some red seam binding ribbon and almost done! I added some paper piercing to my plaid panel and attached it all to some fabulous Classic Kraft paper.

Here's a close up so you can see my wreath....

And that, my friends, is it! Now it’s your turn to create a project using plaid or houndstooth patterns. Make sure to check out the rules and link up your creation on this post HERE for a chance to win a prize…remember, if you use a Flourishes set your chances of winning go up! Have fun and I hope you make time to play along!

Happy Birthday Sweet Christine!

IT'S A SURPRISE PARTY!!! So, grab a handful of confetti, a bright balloon and come along for a fun birthday blog hop to celebrate a special birthday for our dear friend, Christine Okken!  One thing about birthdays, is that you always hope to spend time with those you care about and that's why we're here!  At Flourishes, we're just one big family... so we just wanted to celebrate a wonderful day with one of our loved ones.

Even though we're a day early, we'd like to say...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINE!!!!!

Join along with members of the Flourishes family today and share some fabulous birthday inspirations, many happy celebratory birthday wishes and maybe even a slice of cyber cake.

Christine is one of those dear ladies who, even though we live hundreds of miles apart, we are as close as next door neighbors. We've only seen each other in real life a handful of times but gosh, it's like no time has passed at all between visits. She is such a sweet, thoughtful, caring, spiritual friend -- and I wouldn't trade her for anything! Christine - I hope you have the most blessed day and an even better year to come. Cheers to you dear friend!

On to my creation!

Christine is such an amazing card maker that making a card for HER? Oh my! I guess you could say I chickened out and kept my coloring to a minimum! :-)

I started with my Silhouette Cut File for Flourishes Spring Blossoms stamp set. After the shapes were cut, I took the small bracket pieces and stamped them using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Then, I colored it all up with Copic markers. (See below for the color collections that I used!) I then used the Flourishes Perfectly Pierced Victorian Oval die. While the die was still on, I did sponge on some Spun Sugar Distress Ink to cast a soft glow. I then took the Sentimental Favorites stamp set and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment using Tuxedo Black ink. I matted up my image thanks to the Spellbinders Labels Seventeen and some scraps that I had with the True Friends paper pack and one of the new papers from Echo Park in the Style Essentials paper pack -- love all the designs in this pack! Add a little chevron ribbon, a little bling and.. ta da! done!

Here's a close up! You can see I did add a little glitz to the center of the flowers thanks to a little glitter glue!

And that, my friends is it! I have a perky and fun birthday card for an extra special lady in one of my favorite color pairings -- pink and green!
