Wild and Wonderful Noon-Time Challenge!

Are you ready for a fun challenge with a little Howdy and Yeehaw thrown in? Flourishes is kicking off this fun-filled, fast-paced challenge challenge at high noon. It's one more chance to win their entire September release. Get ready for the.......

   

HOW TO PLAY: For this noon challenge, your card just has to be a little on the rugged side. Use faux leather, "lasso" in some fun trim or give your creation a distressed look -- you choose. Just make sure your card is worthy of the wild west! Upload to SCS? Use the keyword FLLCSEPTRW2 and don’t forget to link up your creation HERE over on the Flourishes Blog using the Inlinkz widget!

Need a little inspiration? I created a card that reminded me a wee bit of the rugged west using Flourishes' new stamp set called Cowboy Christmas!

I stamped on Flourishes Classic White using Memento Tuxedo Black and then let the fun begin coloring it up with Copic markers! (See supplies below for details on which color collections I used). I added a mix of decorative paper from the Glitz Happy Travels, Authentique Genuine, Jillibean Soup and My Mind's Eye Fiddlesticks collections. Add some stitching, some twine and a fun western style brad and..... ta da! I love this set because being from Montana where cowboys are everywhere, it's nice to have this kind of set for Christmas creations!

Sneak Peek Day 2: Poinsettia and Pine!

Hi all! And.... welcome to day two of Flourishes' sneak peek week! It's also full of fun because the Timeless Tuesday gals are ushering in a challenge and if you play, you could win Flourishes entire September Release (a $90 value!)! So get ready... today all the gals will be showing off a brand new set called.... 

Pair a beautiful poinsettia branch with some pine and holly and you have one beautiful image perfect to ring in the holiday season! This set, Poinsettia and Pine, penned by Marcella Hawley offers one large focal image, a small sprig of pine and holly along with four beautifully scripted sentiments -- all packed into a 4" by 6" set. By the looks of it, we know this one will be a hit! :-)

On to the challenge and my creation! The Timeless Tuesday gals are challenging you to A Pinterest Christmas!! All you have to do is find your Christmas inspiration photo on Pinterest, link it up to your blog and show off your Pinterest inspired creation! (By the way, did you know Flourishes has its own Pinterest Page with boards upon boards of inspiration? Check it out HERE!) 

I chose this photo on Pinterest, because I love the look of pink poinsettias and thought this variety was just too pretty for words! So... here's my inspiration... 

And, here's my creation....

I started by stamping the poinsettia on Classic White Card Stock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. And then... I colored it up with Copic markers (see links below for the color collections that I used). Cut using a Spellbinders Classic Circles die and.. you're almost done! I grabbed some decorative paper from my scrap bin and then... added some lace and some red seam binding ribbon and... ta da!

Sneak Peeks Day 1: Trimmed with Love!

Hi all and welcome to day one of Flourishes' Sneak Peeks for its Christmas release! The DT is starting the sneaks early because we have FIVE new sets to unveil and want to make sure you see all of them in their full glory. Get ready for a fun and festive week ahead! There is definitely something for everyone on tap this week.Today, we are starting with a classic Christmas image and we know that it will be a favorite for years to come!

Introducing....

 

A beautifully adorned Christmas tree perfect for the season - that is what you get with this offering from Marcella Hawley called Trimmed With Love! Decked to perfection, this set features not only a main focal image but a mistletoe wreath, perfect for tags or packages, a handful of sentiments to adorn your cards or creations plus a trio of greetings designed to fit our Tailor-made Classic Tags Dies. 

On to my creation!

I started by stamping the tree using Rich Cocoa Memento ink on Flourishes Classic White and then, cut it out using Spellbinders Labels Twenty One. Color it all up with Copics (see below for colors) and then mat it all up! As you can see, I did use Flourishes Tailormade Classic Tags die for my little sentiment that I attached to a seam binding bow. I attached it with a little bit of gold cording. Add some stitching, some piercing, some Champagne colored pearls and almost done! I wanted to add a more antique feel -- so while both of my dies were still on my image, I outlined the inner part of the die with the lighter markers in the Sunflower Copic Collections. I like the antiqued edge it gave it! 

And, here's a close up! You can see (kind of) that I added a little sparkle thanks to some glitter glue!
