Sweet Nature is a set that's actually patterned after Flourishes' ever-popular Thank You set. This gorgeous floral and script set penned by Marcella Hawley features the fizzy blossoms of Ranunculus paired with gorgeously scripted sentiments that are perfect for all occassions! As you'll see when you make the rounds to the designers' blogs, there's even a beautiful scripted accent strip to add to your stamped creations!
On to my creation!
This layout is pretty easy peasy. Not a ton to it -- just an oval cut thanks to a Classic Oval die from Spellbinders, and the Classic Scalloped Oval as well. (Both were cut thanks to my Grand Calibur machine! I love that you can cut and emboss both at the same time!) After I cut my scalloped oval, I did lightly sand the edges to reveal the paper's white core. However, the white was just a little too white. So, I went around the edges with a light rose Copic marker (R30). I liked this effect!
The beautiful Ranunculus were stamped on Flourishes Classic Ivory and colored with Copic markers. I used RV02, RV00, R35 and blended the flowers with RV0000. The stems were colored with YG63, YG03 and YG00. Then, my whole image was accented with RV00 and RV0000 and blended with a Colorless Blender. The rest is just matting it up! My paper is from the BasicGrey Sweet Threads line. And then, I added some Ivory Cotton Linen Ribbon and bling too. If you look at the right side of the card, you'll see the scripted background that is part of the stamp set. I stamped that using Memento Rich Cocoa. And...Viola! Done!
Here's a close up!

What a yummy card, Julie!! Those colors are just delicious. A beautiful new set!!
very pretty. romantic
Universal image by tone of coloration for gents' or ladies' cards champions this stamp set for scads of stamping projects. Black embossing on white CS comes to mind layered on strong cs for a CAS look carrying a from the heart message comes to mind. Flooding still on the mind. Took a trip to the mountains to see remaining snow pack. Thankfully the river in this valley is three feet below flood stage and could carry some of the snowmelt onto the Missouri. . . . which isn't down so much comparitively. mt23stamperatyahoodotcom
Keep Looking UP!
This is so very pretty, I love the two tone of colors that meld so beautifully on your flower image, Julie!! The Thank You set is one of my very favorites, and I saw the resemblance with this set right away!! So excited!!

So beautiful! I love how your simple layout really showcases the flowers.
what a pretty card... the flowers are so lovely!
Well, this brought back memories to many years ago and I had planted some Ranunculus. First day they bloomed the little girl across the corner came over and picked them all!!! I was so angry. I marched up and introduced myself to her mother and explained how unhappy I was. Mom apologized profusely, made the daughter apologize and then the next day I THINK she baked cookies for me. See, I came home from work the next evening and Chuck told me about the nice conversation he had with the Mom and about the wonderful cookies she made, of which he ate every one!?! Your posies look so much prettier than the wilting ones clutched in that little girl's sweaty hands. Love the scripted background paper you made. Great layout, too. Thanks for sharing and listening to me reminisce.
I spy a pretty script background! I like the pinks and greens together in your coloring and paper!
Ooo la la!!! Just stunning coloring!! The blooms look so very realistic!
Very nice, springy flower card!
Most beautiful shades of pink and green, and absolutely gorgeous coloring of the flowers! Love how you popped up the blooms and buds. I got a kick out of reading Denise G's comment above. First the little girl picked all her flowers, then her husband ate all the cookies! Sometimes you just can't win for losing!
Beautiful! I love how you stamped the script on the patterned paper!
Gorgeous! Julie your blooms look wonderful and then popped up is awesome. Very feminine feeling.
This is very pretty!
Beautiful design, Julie! LOVE the pink shading around the flowers, too!
Beautiful card - love the pink and green!!!
This is oh-so-pretty! I love the wonderful coloring of your flowers and the dimension! Gorgeous!
