Getting In The Spirit!

Hi all and Happy Friday! Today the Flourishes design team is helping to get you in the holiday spirit!

Christmas will be here before we even know it and if you are anything like me, you like to make a card here and there to make that mad dash to get cards in the mail a wee bit easier! On to my creation!

Ok, I'll be the first to admit that this card doesn't really look like...me. But hey, we all need to step out of our creative comfort zones every now and then, right? The layout is different than what I normally do and I have to tell you that when I first started this card, I was definitely influenced by THIS creation from Tosha Leyendekker. I love how she used a portion of the decorative paper as a kind of sentiment on her card and I wanted to try to do the same thing!

I started with the Silhouette cut file for the Winter Berries stamp set. After I was done, I stamped the image using Rich Cocoa Memento Ink. I grabbed my Copic markers and went to town coloring it all up! (See supply list below for a list of colors!) Add some seam binding ribbon, a splash of gold cording and then, some fun and funky glittered red borders! Oh yeah, I also added some white gel pen to the berries to give them a little bit of a highlight.

Not too much other than layered decorative paper. And that, my friends is it! Hope you make time to see what the other Flourishes designers whipped up with a holiday flair!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Gorgeous, Julie! I love that music dp, and your coloring, as always, is beautiful. I will have to say, though, that when I first saw this card, I had an immediate craving for sweets...the Merry Christmas dp text reminds me of a big Hershey chocolate bar, and I have a serious weakness for chocolate! :)

You are so good, Julie! This has warmth and sparkle all at once. Love the gold cord on the red ribbon and that pretty, sparkly border. Comfort zone, schmomfort zone... this looks perfectly natural on you!
