Looking at the finished card, you probably wondered how I got the light reflective qualities in the coloring. Well, it was as simple as stamping my image with Versafine Black Onyx and then using a brush to bleach out the areas of the pomegranite.
After that, I picked up a cream pencil and colored the stem and leaves. I used Deco Pink to color the pomegranite.
From there, I colored over the entire leaf with Lime Peel. And, the entire berry with Mulberry.
Now comes the shading! I used Dark Green for the leaves and stem and Tuscan Red and Dahlia Purple to shade areas of the pomegranite. I know this looks really rough at this point but stick with me! That is about to change!
I used a paper stump and some odorless mineral spirits to blend my colors together. What I have now is just a blended piece that is shaded in just portions of the fruit and leaves. How did I get the outlined image overtop?
Because the stamps are clear, I used Staz-On Black ink, lined my image up over my colored pencil creation and stamped my image over top! I love the effect this created!

From there, I edged my colored pencil piece with a gold leafing pen. Added a decorative piece of green that has a sewn edge. I used a second green layer and added a decorative punch (Martha Stewart). The ribbon is Martha Stewart as well and the ribbon was threaded through a tag created by a Spellbinders Tag set. The saying "Give Thanks" is also a part of the Figs and Pomegranite set!
