It's an "Out of the Box" Challenge!

Hi all and Happy Labor Day! For those in the U.S., I hope you have had a wonderfully relaxing weekend. As I type this, I'm enjoying some much needed R & R with family! I did have some time to create this weekend and it was just in time for something new and fun -- a Scor-Pal Designer Challenge! Play along and you could not only get a chance at winning some fun goodies, but you just might be picked to be a guest designer!

THE CHALLENGE: This month's challenge was to create something "out of the box" -- in other words, some sort of box with your trusty Scor-Pal or Scor-Buddy!  You can read up on the challenge HERE!

On to my project! Being that the challenge is to make a box, I spent quite a bit of time surfing through the projects library at Scor-Pal.com. I ultimately picked THIS project called Haunted Treat Bag. I thought it was cute! I chose a fall theme for my project and since I knew I wanted to include some chocolate covered sunflower seeds, I picked Flourishes Sunflowers set.  Here's a peek before I put it all together!

If you want step-by-step instructions, please click on the link above, Teresa Payne did a wonderful job!

I stamped my sunflower on Flourishes Classic White card stock and then colored it up with Copic Markers  using the Sunflower, Flesh Tones 2, Poppy and Evergreen Collections grouped by Flourishes.  I cut it out and then popped it up using foam tape onto my bag/box front. I did add something a little extra to my project. I cut a piece of brown card stock to measure 4 by 3 and -- laying the piece with the 4" a the top of my Scor-Pal, I scored at the 2" line and then used a decorative border punchy to edge the piece. I thought this would be a cute topper. Add a sentiment and some twine to secure and.... viola!

Here's a look at the finished project!

One of my friends just had a birthday this weekend and next week we have a lunch date, I'm going to slip a gift card inside too and hope she enjoys!

Be sure to check out the other creations from the Scor-pal DT. I am sure you won't be disappointed!

If you play along and upload to Splitcoaststampers, please use the keyword SPDC1. At the end of the month, Tami will randomly draw one winner for a Scor-Tape prize! One designer's project will also be picked from the entries and that designer will join us as an October Guest Designer. What fun!!!!  So, get creating!  ;-)

See you back here soon!
