Are you ready for a spring-time release that has a little something for everyone and every kind of occasion? Flourishes certainly is and today brings a sneak of a classic botanical that made the Flourishes Design Team swoon!

INTRODUCING.....

Isn't this set something??? This new 4" by 6" set illustrated by Marcella Hawley features a beautiful cluster of hydrangea, hand-picked from the garden along with clusters of flowers to serve as accents. It's a gorgeous expression of spring and summer that comes with three all occasion sentiments and one beautiful accent word that would be lovely on any card or creation. If you like what you see, you can pre-order this set now... right HERE!

On to my creation! It's actually a pair of creations made with this set.....

Here's a quick peek at what I whipped up -- a little candy basket and matching card! And now, to the details!

I started with a 6 by 6" piece of paper and used the smaller hydrangea in the set to stamp all over using Memento Lulu Lavender. Doesn't it almost look like background paper? Love that stamp!

From there, I flipped the paper over and scored at the 2" and 4" marks using my Scor-Buddy. You can see too that I created diagonal lines just in the four outer corners of my piece. The black dots are where I punched holes to string ribbon through.

I added a decorative border, some stitching and then gathered all the corners up -- folding the diagonal lines as valley folds. I am so sorry that I didn't take a picture of this step! But you can see from the photo above. When stringing the ribbon - I threaded THIS ribbon from the left to the right through both holes on that corner and then threaded it through both holes on the opposite corner. Then, I took the other tail and did the same thing from one diagonal corner to the opposite on the diagonal. Basically the ribbon forms an "X" and you gather the tails to tie in a bow. I accented with a stamped tag using both the Classic Ovals, and Floral Ovals dies.

 Now for my matching card!

I used a whole bunch of goodies on this creation! I used the Floral Ovals again and Classic Ovals for my main image. After I cut the small oval out, I left the die on and used the large hydrangea on the set. The die served as a mask. Also, while the die was still on, I took a Copic Multi-liner and traced the inner edge to give it a little extra pop. I colored my flowers up with my Copic markers and used these Copic Collections!

For my card, I created a 4" by 4" card and then let my floral oval bleed off the top. I also sponged some Lulu Lavender on the outer edges of both ovals. I stamped the hydrangea word stamp off the side with Lulu Lavender and accented the main portion of the card with a diamond print embossing folder. Score some lines thanks to the Scor-Buddy and add some seam binding style ribbon. I also used some Iced Candi. This was the first time I used these little numbers and I have to say I love them! They are so light weight --- which means you don't have the weight of a brad but still have the look!  The sentiment at the bottom is also part of the set and was stamped using Versafine Black Onyx ink.

Here's a close up!

And... here's another peek at the whole she-bang!

Julie, I want to be like you when I grow up. Of course, I'm probably already 20 years older than you are... :) Your box and card are super -- I'm going to try that stamping through the Nestie trick -- and I love the black rule... Never an end to what you creative folks can think up to do with those Nesties!
