Around the Edges....

Hello & a Happy Power Poppy Friday to Y'all! I hope your week is ending on a high note and that you're looking forward to a creative, joyful, fun-filled weekend ahead! I have a quickie card to share today with a fun little thing I tried that I think I am going to try a whole lot more of!

So.... let's get right to it, shall we?

So, you see that I used a double stitched die for my main image. Here's the trick! Before I put the die on my paper, I inked it using some Vivid! Antique Rose ink. I pressed the ink pad all along that edge of the die and then, cut my paper. While the ink impression isn't prefect like a stamped image -- I do like the kind of distressed looking results! After I was done, I did sponge on some ink and added a distressed style accent stamp to the corners just to add to the effect.

The rest is just coloring -- with Copics, of course -- and matting it up! I used R81, R83, RV00, E31, E33, G20, G21 and G24. I added a little twine and a Stampin' Up button and... ta da!

Here's a close up!

And that, my friends, is it! Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy! I left the inside blank so that I would have a card ready and waiting, no matter what the occasion!

Just like every Friday, some of my stampin' sistahs also have some creatively fun things to share! So, you'll have to hop, skip, and jump on over to see what these fine ladies have in store!

Love the softly weathered look the die and the stamping adds Julie, this is very vintage classy feeling! So pretty!

Julie, this is gorgeous, and I love how you've colored the magnolias and the borders with the die. Stunning! And what a great layout with the DP and, as always, I love the twine and button! Beautifully done, sweet friend! Hugs!

What a great idea to ink up the edge of your die....I love the distressed look it gives and it looks perfect on your beautifully colored card! I am going to have to try this out myself! Love the mix of pinks you used here, your pretty papers, and that antique-y looking button is perfect! Hope all is well your way! Sending hugs....
