Well hello there! Happy Saturday to you! Granted, this isn't just ANY Saturday... it's a day just for US! Yep, it's for those of us who love to grab our scissors to watch the paper fly, for those of us who love playing around with color and most importantly, those of us who love to create and share our little projects from the heart! It's....
Every first Saturday in October since 2006, Card Makers have been uniting to not only get a head-start on holiday card-making but to celebrate all the ways we love to share this craft. Power Poppy is getting in on the action on this World Card Making Day to help us all celebrate the beautiful community that is at the heart of this super-fun hobby.
So to honor this special day, all of the Bloomies are sharing their favorite kind of card to make -- be it anniversary, birthday, thinking of you, just because, new baby, wedding -- you name it! Here's the fun part. All you need to do is follow this link list below, hop on over to all the Bloomies' blogs and...
On Monday, Power Poppy will take all the comments from all the blogs, throw them into a hat and we'll draw one lucky winner for a.... POWER POPPY GOODY BAG!
Why is this so fun you ask? Well, the lucky winner will get some of Marcella Hawley's hand-picked goodies and it will be a beautiful surprise! A winner will be drawn and announced sometime on Monday, October 9th! Just stay tuned!
I have to say that I love the surprise behind an all occasion card -- the kind of card you send to let a friend know that you are thinking about her! I had planned on sharing a new creation but life (actually a migraine) got in the way and so I only have a piece of a card done. So, I decided I would be finishing my card on World Card Making Day!

So, what's my favorite kind of card to make?
I have to say that I love the surprise behind an all occasion card -- the kind of card you send to let a friend know that you are thinking about her! I had planned on sharing a new creation but life (actually a migraine) got in the way and so I only have a piece of a card done. So, I decided I would be finishing my card on World Card Making Day!
I had this embossed panel and I wanted to see what it might look like if I water colored some of the raised portions of this panel. I grabbed some Twinkling H20s and a waterbrush...
And from there, I had a fussy cut image from the Planning for Magnolia set and paired it with one of the sentiments from the Tweet Tidings stamp set. And sadly, that's as far as I got! ;-)
I am wondering what color I will make the little magnolia branch and am contemplating making this a monochromatic look. So... we'll see! Stay tuned!
In the meantime, I did pull together some of my favorite "thinking of you/hello" creations!
This one using Power Poppy's Well Hello Dahlia digital stamp set!
And this one using the So Grateful stamp set!
And to help all of you celebrate World Card Making Day, Power Poppy is hosting a one-day only, 24 hour flash sale starting... NOW!
So, what are you waiting for? Let's celebrate World Card Making Day in grand style -- getting ideas from some of the most talented card makers world-wide! And then, grabbing some savings to stock up on things for future crafty endeavors!

I like sending cards for no reason, too! And I have my eye on that dahlia stamp, because ... dahlias!
Gorgeous cards! So much inspiration here.
Awesome background on the first card. I love it just the way it is, no color on the flowers. It seems to be in style right now. ALL of your cards are just stunning and beautiful designs.
Hope your migraine goes away quickly! I like the beginnings of your magnolia card. I think monochromatic would be great - just a hint of blue around the flower petals. Your other two cards are lovely!
Gosh, Julie, your card is going to be so pretty when finished! I love the background and whatever you do with the magnolia branch will be wonderful. You have a nice variety on display here. You know I love your style and all these beautiful Power Poppy stamps. So many to choose from. You make me want to go forth and color them all!
All of your cards are stunning!! I love making cards for no special reason or season, I think they’re more special.
I sure love these bright colored cards with uplifting sentiments on them. Can't wait to see how you finish your first card. Monochromatic would be nice. After all, you are out to impress!
Lovely cards. I love the background idea from you new card and I cannot wait to see how you decide to finish it! Sorry about the migraine; I hope that you are feeling better now.
I love the uncolored image against the partially watercolored background. The sentiment and image really pop against the white and touch of blue!
The color explosions in your other cards are just as fabulous, Julie! You are SO talented!
Wonderful selection of cards. I like the card with poppies most. The precisely colored and overall look of the card looks great.

The card that was "unfinished" looks good like it is--I like a lot of white. But.... you also mentioned monochromatic. Appears you could easily do that seeing that the bough is inked in blue. You've done exceedingly good work on each and every card you've made.
gorgeous floral delight. happy card making day
What an abundance of beautiful cards! Lovely coloring.
All your cards are just fabulous, Julie! They are all so bright with your gorgeous colouring and wonderful backgrounds. Thanks so much for the inspiration.

Beautiful cards and gorgeous stamps. I hope the migraine is long gone.
Each one has a great composition with such color choices, stunning, fall in love with your creativity, impressive! Happy World Card Making Day!
I really like the graphic look of the magnolia card as it is! Colouring sections of the embossed background has given a great backdrop for the detailed flower - love it! You do colour beautifully though, as the rest of the cards you picked out demonstrate!
Hope the headache is better. I love monochromatic cards so that idea gets my vote! Your other cards are bright and vibrant and beautiful. Love the poppies. Cheers.
Georgeous cards! I love your style!
Gorgeous cards! Love the beautiful fall colors.
Beautiful cards! Hope your migraine has slowed down by now and you were able to get back to your coloring. I love having cards on hand for those times when life gets in the way.
Beautiful cards! Love what you did with the backgrounds!
I love all your backgrounds and the layers!

So sorry you had a migraine, Julie, but it's nice that you enjoyed a bit of time experimenting with H2O's. I still have mine and will have to pull them out and try your background idea. I love it! Your past cards are so beautiful and continue to inspire me, sweet friend! Thanks for doing all you do to make Power Poppy so very special. You are loved! Hugs and love! xoxo
