Flourishes Free for all Friday!

WOW Flourishes Fans!  Can you believe we’re at 50% in our Gambler’s Sale?!  It’s getting so exciting for bargain hunters!  On Monday our last discount goes up to the final discount of 60% off!!

One of the sets that is still in stock is one that I think is truly beautiful! It's called Friendship and Flowers and it was illustrated by Sam Pickard. Dina Kowal did the fabulous friendship sentiments that I know I will be reaching for -- for years to come!

I kind of went BOLD on this color scheme but I have got to tell you -- it makes me happy! I love that shade of blue and orange, well, that is one of my favorite colors! I stamped the flower on a scrap of white, punched with a 2" punch and matted it on the Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Circles LG die (The shape was embossed and then I sanded the edges). I colored the flower up with the Clematis Collection grouped HERE by Flourishes. The butterfly was stamped on a scrap of Flourishes Classic White and colored with the Tigerlily Collection. Add some light blue shadowing from the Iced Aqua Collection and the rest is just matting it up! I added a little button in the top corner that was accented with some blue and white twine. You can see in the close up below that I also added a splash of white from my gel pen. LOVE!

On to my creation!

For this little creation, I picked up the Forget Me Not Notes set. I just LOVE those darling little flowers -- so very sweet for any and all occasion! I stamped on Flourishes Classic White using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then, colored with Copics! I chose the Clematis, New Leaves, Violet and Sunflower collections grouped HERE by Flourishes. Mat it up on a Spellbinders Classic Circle LG, then a doily and another circle and... almost done! I did mat this on a strip of decorative paper from the Alphabet Junction paper collection. The edge was created with a strip of royal blue decorative paper and the Spellbinders Scalloped Borders One.  Add a tag die cut and some silver cording and... ta da! Done! :-)

Here's a close up -- you can see I added a little white gel pen for an accent here and there. I seem to be addicted lately to my white gel pen!

Savings and inspiration you'll LOVE!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!  What a great day set aside to tell people you love them!  And on that note today we bring you another round of inspiration from our amazing Design Team in our Gambler’s Sale...this week we’re at 40% off!  In just a few days the prices will drop again to 50% off...the gamble is how long you wait before those items you love are gone!

Ok.. on to my creation! I had to do a Valentine's Day Creation today to not only wish you all a day of warm fuzzies but to share the card I made for my sweetie! If you read this post HERE, you know how special this set Tokens of Affection is to me! So.... my card!

For my creation, I had it in my head that I wanted to do a gate fold card with the hearts overlapping... and so.. that's where my creation led me! I used Spellbinders Classic Hearts and Classic Scalloped Hearts to cut out my shapes from Flourishes Classic White. While the die was still on, I did sponge on some Spun Sugar Distress Ink for a soft look. I stamped the robot in Tuxedo Black ink and the sentiment as well, adding the hearts from the Love Notes stamp set. From there -- I colored with Copics and used a range of reds, and pinks and cool greys. I tried to stick to color collections grouped by Flourishes but then, lost track! I used every red and pink marker I had! :-) Most of the paper is from the Alphabet Junction paper pack. The strip on the right is actually some old BasicGrey. 

I have to say those loopy brads have been in a drawer FOREVER and I love pulling them out in times like these when you just need a dash of whimsy! I used some red grosgrain and pink gingham ribbon to thread through for extra flair! You can also see in the other photo I added a screw head brad -- I thought that was fun. I have had those in my embellishment drawer forever too! I literally got those 5 years ago! ;-) 

And, here's a peek at the inside -- more hearts and -- a little note for my lovey to have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Ok... on to my creation!

For my card, I used one of my old-time faves, Sweet Nature. I just love the sweet blossoms in this set! I stamped on Flourishes Classic White using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. And then, I colored my image up with Copic Markers.I used the Lenten Rose, New Leaves and Pistachio Collections grouped by Flourishes. You can find all of the collections HERE in this handy, dandy swatch book! The shape is from a Silhouette Cut file I created. After I was done coloring, I took the faded damask image from the So Distressed set and stamped it around my image to create a kind of halo effect. I just love the way you can add texture with that set! From there, I grabbed from scraps from my decorative paper scrap bin, added some lace and some bling and... almost done! I did also grab some white seam binding ribbon for a little bow. The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of white and punched out with a 1-1/4" circle punch. 

And here.... is a closeup! 

And that, my friends, is it! An easy peasy card with a pop of color. I love having these kinds of cards at the ready for a little pick-me-up for a friend! And remember my promise of 2014 -- send more cards! ;-)

On to my creation! I just adore this set and sadly, it is close to being sold out. :-( I just think it is the sweetest set to have on hand for those "anytime, any day" kinds of cards!

I started with the Silhouette Cut File for the Call Me stamp set. Then, I stamped this image from the Call Me set on Flourishes Classic White using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Then... I grabbed my Copic Markers and used the Cool Neutrals, Creamy, Sunflower, Lenten Rose, Candy Pink and Iced Aqua Collections grouped by Flourishes HERE in the Copic Swatch Book.

The rest of the card is die cuts -- using Spellbinders Classic Circles LG, and Flourishes Perfectly Pierced Windows die. Papers? Well, I used the Eclectic Everyday and Memorabilia paper packs.

And that, my friends, is it! I love the super feminine feel this card has! I'll set it aside for one of those "just because" kinds of reasons to write a friend across the miles! :-)

On to my creation!

Well, for my card today, I picked up a set that needed a little love. I chose In Nature. I needed to make a masculine card, and I thought this image was perfect. It's funny, while my family and I were watching football, I had my little case of Copic markers and some images and I just sat and colored! This was one that I just didn't seem to want to stop coloring -- I wanted to add more to the clouds, to the trees, to the grasses, to the water. I finally said -- Ok -- pur your hands up and step away from your markers! For my papers, I picked up some green scraps and took the kraft style paper from THIS paper pack. The strip is Flourishes Kraft. And... I stamped on Flourishes Classic White.   After stamping using Tuxedo Black, I used the New Leaves, Fields, Iced Aqua, Creamy and Poppy Collections grouped by Flourishes. 

And, one fun addition? I took the kraft paper and I accented it using the chevron stripe and the faded background from the So Distressed stamp set. There are SO many fun backgrounds in this set. They are all subtle designs when you want to add a little interest! Below you can see the chevron off to the side.... 

And below, you can see the faded stamp to create a kind of antiqued background. Add in some twine and a wood button and... ta da! Almost done! I did add the sentiment from the Mountain View stamp set because it was perfect for my card. 

And that, my friends, is it! This card is going to my brother. He just came to Montana for a wee visit for his birthday and I thought I would drop this in the mail to let him know how much we loved seeing him. I vowed to try to SEND as many cards as I made in 2014. Let's see if I can stick to that resolution! ;-)
