I stamped my image with Versafine Black Onyx, outlined the left side of my image with a very light tan Tombow marker and then started painting! I used Rustic Red Shimmerz on the berries with highlights of Beeswax and then Sagebrush and Evergreen on the leaves. After I was done, I sponged the edges of this piece with Antique Linen Distress Ink, did some paper piercing in the corners and then matted it onto a green piece of cardstock. Add a background stamp, a sentiment (Hero Arts), some hardware and a shimmery piece of ribbon and you are done!
Here is a close up! See the shimmer on the outside edge of my red mat? I even have a trick for that!
Hope you have a fabulous end to your weekend!

That is a beautiful card and would certainly go nicely for illness or sympathy. I really like the added touch of the paper piercing. Lovely. MOM
Hi Julie - what a beaufiful card - can't belive you did not ink tha stamp up sooner!! I read your tutorial and found it very helpful - thanks! You'll need to fill me in on the beeswax thing - I've never used it!
Just gorgeous Julie!! I am just pooped. Just got home from my husband's family reunion, got supper on the table and now am ready to shut my eyes!!
Hope you had a great weekend.
I just read the tutorial on the Shimmerz. I am not familiar with this product. Your card is beautiful and the shimmer is fabulous -- especially on the red matting.
Oh no, not another fab product to add to my wish list!! I hadn't heard of it before (I know, I must have been living under a rock, yes, I probably have been actually LOL). Anyway, it's truly beautiful especially on the kraft paper!
Oh WOW! You definitely did this stamp justice! You card is stunning!

Saw this on the Shimmerz blog too - it's gorgeous. What a nice image too, so glad you inked it for this!

Wow this is just stunning. I love the rich colors and with fall just around the corner they are just perfect. Wonderful tutorial. I've never heard of Shimmerz before this (seems others haven't either) but I like the results. Thanks for the tips.
Where do I buy that product? I've certainly ignored many new things for a long time, but after your tutorial I can't anymore. LOL.
Great card!

GORGEOUS!! Got red berries in a vase on my mantle and in a vase on my dining room table and in a vase on the old pie cupboard in the kitchen and I really like red berries. Thanks for sharing and making me think I "need" more stuff, especially when I just got back from Novi!
