Today's challenge is over at Deb Saaranen's place - Dream In Color - Do you need a quick, but lovely, little gift for someone? Maybe your child's teacher, the lady who does your hair or nails? The ladies in your book club? Well, today Deb’s Featured Project is to make a small gift attractively packaged for gift presentation. And, guess what? she wants to challenge you to do the same!
So, I call my gift idea - "Notes On The Go!" And, here's why! I found this cute note pad set at Hobby Lobby and when I bought it, I honestly had no plans for it. It was a complete impulse buy -- and why not - did you see the price? Just under two bucks! I just loved the bold and sassy pink and green! So, then the light bulb hit! and I thought, gosh,I have a stamp that is kind of like that flower on the note pad and I even have matching paper so -- why not make a little note pad and note card set?
I started with an 6-1/2 by 11 piece of paper. I measured the notepad to be 1/4" wide and so I doubled that for the "spine" of my organizer and scored 1/2" wide strip that down the middle. I did the same for the side flap. In the photo below, I added digital score marks so you can see! I ended up covering this piece -front and back- with coordinating card stock to match my note pad. Then, I worked on my note cards! I simply stamped the Victorian Rose in the corner of a 4 by 5-1/2" piece of white paper. Then, I matted my paper on coordinating pink and green pieces of paper and outlined the mat with silver leafing pen. I even made envelopes to match! Here's a close up of the flower. I love this stamp! It just looks so pretty without doing anything to it but ink it up!
