Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Happy World Card Making Day! Flourishes using this day to kick off a challenge that you can "cling to!" Whether the stamps you use cling to acrylic or wood, they hold the power to convey hope and lift the spirits of anyone who sees what you create with them. And that's why Flourishes is joining Splitcoast Stampers' “Hope You Can Cling To” stamping campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All this month, SCS is partnering with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for a month long card drive to benefit those affected by breast cancer. The campaign kicks off TODAY! You can read up on the card drive HERE. To honor this heartfelt drive, Flourishes decided to offer up one heck of a challenge!

HERE'S THE CHALLENGE! Since women come in all shapes and sizes -- let's honor that! There are tall and skinny, round and shapely, even a little boxy. So, let's ditch the A-2 sized cards (4-1/4" by 5-1/2")and get creative. Anything goes! If you do that AND use ribbon, you'll get two entries! If you use a non-standard shape card, use ribbon and use the color pink, you'll have three chances to win! Let's see what you can create! When uploading to SCS, please use the keyword: FLLCWCMD10. You have until October 31st to enter and will have a shot at winning a goody bag which includes our Fight Like a Girl set supporting breast cancer survivors! Just link your creation here or on the thread in our Flourishes Challenge Forum!

And, here's my creation!

I chose to make my card a 4-1/2" square. I used one of the new Spellbinders Nestie dies - Eyelet Circles. After embossing, I sanded the edges. The circle was created with a circle die and Flourishes Classic White paper, embossed, and while the die was still on, I went and stamped all the sentiments from the Think Pink: Fight Like A Girl set in the center and then sponged on some pink Memento ink as well. Add a smaller eyelet circle, a smaller circle and then I stamped the survivor ribbon on decorative paper, cut out and mounted it in the center of my small circle. I also added some of the new ZVA rhinestone flourishes that are new to the Flourishes store. I used this one! Score and sand around the edges and... done! All the dp was from the Prima Annalee paper pack! And.... done!
