A Contemporary Christmas

Hi all! Happy Labor Day! I thought holiday and thought -- let's think Christmas instead! When I saw THESE trees, I saw a contemporary card floating in my head with a fun geometric look...
This design is super duper simple! It's just decorative paper, rhinestones and some shapes cut out with my circle Nesties! I inked up the large and small swirl tree with olive Vivid! ink and then cut them out. The largest tree was then popped up with some foam tape. That's it!! I wish I knew what kind of dp this was but honestly, it was just from my scrap pile!

Well, in honor of Labor Day - I will be laboring today. We have some home improvement projects to wrap up with a bow.... so... that's what I'll be doing! I do have some wise advice to pass along that I "learned on the job" this weekend. If your husband's idea of a job well done is, "That looks alright." and your's is not - well, maybe you shouldn't be doing home improvement projects together. :-)
p.s. You have until 9pm Eastern Standard Time tonight to head on over on the JUST RITE blog. The top five projects in their Stampin' Champion Contest are being voted on---- by you! I was so excited to see my sewing kit chosen and my good bud Barb Schram has a darling card in the running as well! YIPPEE! Wish us luck!

LOL...too funny about the home improvement projects! In this household, it's ALWAYS a job well done, no matter how bad it looks! I always tell him, well ya know we can hire this done! That gets him looking through a different pair of glasses! Bwahaaa!

LOVE your card! Perfect...and I thank you for the JUST RITE mention!

Finally getting time to peek in and say hello. This card is soooo fun ... love those trees. After reading Saturday's post too: cute kids and just look at those happy smiles! So glad it went well. i'm tearing up again; after all tomorrow is OUR big day and I am so excited yet sad too. I'm certain that the 2 year old is going to love the one on one but he might even miss big brother too. *ahhh it's all good!*

You've given me yet another great idea for Christmas cards, this year. I love the sketch/design for your contemporary card. I may just have to try this, too! Don't "labor" too hard today. Enjoy some of it!
