Cuddle Up With Tammy!

With the feel of fall in the air -- what better time to grab one of your favorite stampers and cuddle up! LOL! This week's Stamp Simply challenge is all about the fabulous Tammy Hershberger! If you look at her designs, they have a warm and cozy feel to them. Tammy often pairs small pattern decorative paper with larger patterns, which is something quilters do too. So, you could say Tammy's work is like a warm blanket that is often embellished with sewn details, ribbon or even flowers. Want the official details? You can check them out at Sharon's place --- HERE!

Well, after taking a long time just strolling through Tammy's blog - I settled on THIS creation for my inspiration! I loved the vertical and horizontal lines with the different decorative papers, the fabulous scalloped pieces, and the ribbon with the tag. I opted to use her card as a sketch and then even stuck with the same color scheme!

I found some fun decorative paper that actually has a "mail" theme and grabbed the brand new Flourishes set Mixed Greetings. This awesome set features interchangable items and messages. Click HERE to see the full set! Here's the fun part -- fellow Flourishes DT member Leslie Miller was the inspiration behind this set! It's so versatile - flowers, fruit and fun little letters all can be stuffed into baskets and bowls with a trio of messages! I chose the letters for my creation!
The paper really dictated what I did with this card - it's all mail inspired and is the Passport Collection from Making Memories. Can you see the watermark style print that says things like Air Mail, etc.? Fun! One of the papers is actually just patterns in stripes and that's how I made my card front! I had two pieces going vertically and one stip going horizontally! Add a scalloped edge and use your scalloped square Nesties to create your mat for your main focal piece and you're almost there! I stamped the bowl and the letters on a scrap peice, used Tombow markers to color my letters, added a pink twill ribbon (this ribbon was a gift from my bud Jennifer Buck!), and stamped the word "Greetings" on my tag that was cut out with the help of a Sizzix tag die! There's not a ton to this card! I think it's kind of fun and funky!

Here's a close up of my letters and bowl that I popped up with some foam tape. I also added some small self-stick pearls for a little bling!

You'll have to check in and see what the rest of the Stamp Simply team did!
