A Wise Old Tree...

Do you ever have one of those days where you wake up running and you go to bed wondering what hit you? Well, my friends, this was one of those days! So..... I'll keep it short and sweet so I can get my head to bed! hehe!

I wanted to show you a card I made to showcase one of the new Flourishes sets Forest of Trees. When I first saw this set, I saw this tree and immediately was drawn to a quote that I read recently on line.

Here's a look at the card so you see what I mean. The quote reads, "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children."
I loved the saying and thought earthy tones with the tree image would really be perfect! Add some distress ink, paper piercing, some hodgepodge hardware and some self stick pearls and you're done!

Here's a close up of the saying. I even did some decorative, almost scallop like stitching to separate the two decorative papers.

Recipe: Flourishes, Forest of Trees
Paper: Memory Box, Basic Grey, Bazill plain brown
Accessories: Hodgepodge hardware, Self-stick pearls
Ink: Momento ink in Rich Brown and Bamboo Sprouts, Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress inks

That's it my friends... off to rest my sleepy head! See you back here tomorrow!

What a gorgeous card, Julie! I love the colors you used. You are so good and know just what colors go with whatever. I also like how you distressed the edges. I need to start doing that. What a beautiful and true saying.
