Ok, I am in the middle of a reorganization for my stamp room and need some honest advice on clear/cling stamp storage. What do you guys do that works? Right now I just stuff them in photo boxes and have no real plan. As I "collect" more, it just is becoming a mess! Please HELP!

I've put mine in clear cd cases. I just remove the center piece from them and they work great. I've also seen someone online use a dvd metal case but I like to see whats in them. Good Luck! :)
Ummm, shove them in drawers so they fall off the sheets to the bottom of the drawers? ROFL!! And no, I'm not joking, that's how mine are and that's AFTER rearranging them all last week!
Sorry, not much help am I?
I too put mine in clear CD cases... works wonderful!!!!
Somewhere is my list of blogs I go to I have saved a tut for a box to hold those CD cases... when I find it I will come back and give you the link!

Clear Stamp Storage
I hope that helps. So far I really like it. I had them in CD cases but that really didn't work too well for me.
OK... I feel like a DUM DUM! Went thru all my saved posts on about 100 blogs... even tried a search... just using the WRONG key words! BUT I finally found what I was thinking about!!! It is a post on SCS

CD Cases. I love that. They are safe and they take up no space. Plus you can find awesome holders for CD's for real cheap.
Good luck!
I think u got more advice than you need, but just wanted to say, great card up there. Love the coloring and glitter in the middle of limes.
I have mine in cd cases but not for long-I saw an idea for sheet protectors that I am gonna try. I could cut a piece of overlay to fit inside a sheet protector and cling my stamps to them-the protector would fit in a binder then. I don't know if it will work, but the cds thing-way too many and they crack and they are hard to pick ones I want. So we have to do something different. I will post on my blog when I figure it all out. sadly, I really don't like clear stamps that much. only the alphabets really get used a lot.
I tried the sheet protectors, but I didn't like it. I didn't like having to stick the stamps to a backing sheet and then put it in the protector. Every time I took it out, a stamp or two would fall off. I switched to CD cases. I stamped the image of each stamp with Stazon and put the stamp in it's stamped place. This way, I know if one is missing. I have organized it according to theme, and put labels on the spine of the case so I can quickly choose the case that I need. Hope you get some great inspiration from all the comments! Happy organizing!
I also use clear CD cases along with the great plastic boxes Stampin' Up send your stamps in. I love those little boxes!

I have only few clear stamps and I have them in the same package they come im. Now, for TAC stamps, I have several (the big sets) in the clamshells they come in, then I have a few others in cd cases but now I'm envisioning to put them in binders. TAC sells some pages for it and even some cases. Now, you need to consider how many stamps you own. If they are too many then you might need to clasify them. Best way first, create a page or cardstock for each set where you write down the name of the set and then stamp all the images. Then, include that sheet with your stamps once you decide the way.
Oh and other thing, I started labeling the cd cases I have, that because I almost never find one without taking them all out. And for those with cling... there is a way to stamp the image in the back so you can see what their image is without any doubt. After they're mounted is not as easy and clear to label them, but it works for you to know what you get in each case.
HTH, anything you need, you just need to contact me. I'll be glad to help.
Me offering YOU advise?! ROFL!! I don't have many clear stamps, but have been into UMs on cling foam for some years. I have the storage sheets and plop them on those. My order is when I got them and it works for me because I also stamp the image in a wire bound art journal when I get it. Just flip thru it to know about where to look on the storage sheets. I have the storage sheets in Artbin 12x12 clear storage with latches and a handle. I have 2 full and working toward a third. Just got a cool Artbin Faux Wood storage cube that holds 4 of these cases (much easier to slide the one I need out as opposed to lifting the entire stack). My extra case takes paper, UMs and acrylic blocks when I want to go and play at someone else's house. I put my alphabets, real tiny stuff and individual words into Cropper Hopper cases that have about 2" deep holes on one side and flat storage on the back (maybe 8x10). Not sure if any of this would work for you, as I have gawked at the picture of your stamping space and you have a tidy gene I am sadly lacking. But it sure was fun to try and help you for a change.
Very cute card, love your work :)
I don't have a huge collection yet, but I was in the process of putting together a binder. It was my intension to put the on transparencies then slide them into plastic sleeve protectors. I was also thinking that a page with the images stamped or copied would make seeing the images easier. Then I noticed that Inque Boutique just came out with binders with special pages, or maybe they are just the pages to store their stamps on, I am sure that any cling stamps will work on them. I haven't decided which is more convenient and/ or economical. I just will have to find a use for the nice clear storage boxes that the stamps already come in. Hope this helps.I would be interested to see what your area looks like when you are all done reorganizing. I feel like I am constantly reorganizing as I add to my stash. Take care, Laura
I don't have much shelf space so binders aren't an option for me right now. Instead, I store mine in clear CD cases. I found these small desktop sized 'cubes/crates' at Staples & Office Max that hold 12 CD cases. I sort most of my stamps by brand but some by 'category'. Then, I have the high steralite plastic rolling carts with the 9" wide drawers. Four minicrates fit inside each drawer with room for a few odds-n-ends... and then I label the drawers. I've also used a regular music CD rack that complements my room furniture. And with all of that, I've found a site that sells the CD cases, clear, without the inserts, for a great price - much cheaper than a Circuit City type of store. I never thought I'd use 200...but in no time I'm filling them up, so it was definitely worth buying the cases in bulk. Check out www.polylinecorp.com
Julie,
Feel free to go to my blog at www.cherylhorton.typepad.com and view the January 2008 posts and there you will find my stamp storage solutions. I use thin mount and pull have pulled all of my stamps off the wood. Then I store them in VHS cases with the images stamped on the outside and the spines labeled. You can't imagine the space I have saved! Then if your looking for ribbon storage go to Feb 2008 posts and it's the first one to pop up. Great storage solutions is a pet project of mine since my design room is small. Hope this helps.

I'm with Dottie - I use CD cases and when I run out, ziplock bags!!
OK...here is what I do. All my PTI sets are in CD cases...BUT...with my other longer bigger sheets (Dee from the Kitchen Sink Crew) gave me this idea. I use top loading clear pockets you put in three ring binders. Do you know the ones I mean? Then I take address lables and write the name of the set. They are super easy to store on a bookshelf and you can even go as far as haing a three ring binder for each stamp company. I don't, but it is an idea. Then you can flip through them like a book to find what you want to use and you can see everything so clearly. If you do not have anything to put them onto, just cut a transparency sheet. WOO HOO! NO ROOM! SO EASY!
